The role
There are 2 positions on offer at Senior Financial Analyst levelwhich are essentially business partnering roles responsible for managing substantial budgets and providing support to senior managers. The 2 posts are in the following areas;
*Housing - As the HRA business partner, you will prepare the HRA statement of accounts and contribute to the HRA business plan.
*Children and Young Peoples' (CYP) - You will be specifically responsible for setting the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) budgets and will support other CYP services. This post will lead on key statutory returns to DFE/ ESFA, plans and reports to Schools Forum and the Council.
What you need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant and will ideally have worked in local government finance - experience of the above areas will be highly beneficial. If you have not worked in one of the specialist areas specifically you must be capable of communicating that you have a very clear understanding of what the area is responsible for and the associated challenges. You should be comfortable explaining complex information to non-financial managers as well as work well with external stakeholders.
