The Accountant - Client Accounting is a valuable Accounting & Tax Services team and plays a critical role in supporting the team members on technical matters. Accountant - Client Accounting manages a portfolio of clients and ensures quality service delivery and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality accounting, reporting, tax and payroll related services to client companies with timeliness and efficiency
  • Bookkeeping for Swiss client companies under CO or Swiss GAAP
  • Preparation and review of periodic reporting and year-end closing including year-end adjustments for client companies, including consolidated client entity groups
  • Preparation and review of financial statements and associated notes
  • Preparation and review of simple tax returns and associated analysis
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns and associated analysis
  • Manage client relations for a portfolio of client entities under the supervision of SA
  • Ensure high quality service delivery for all entities allocated
  • Manage relationships with tax advisor, legal advisors, tax authorities and auditors
  • Accurate registration of time spent during working days, and overall productivity management
  • Adhere to policies as set down in TMF’s procedures manual and accounting procedures
  • Assistance to Payroll section for specific accounting issues
  • Keep up to date with developments and changes in Swiss accounting and tax

Key Requirements

  • Accounting degree, or Swiss commercial school CFC or appropriate degree with relevant experience in performing complex accounting tasks
  • 5 years working experience in client accounting with in-depth knowledge of Swiss accounting for financial, industrial or services companies (payroll included) and accounting systems, of the consolidation and reporting methods
  • Fiduciary experience is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Swiss accounting and tax specifics
  • Proven experience in managing client relationships
  • Team player
  • Able to plan and delivery in a timely manner
  • Fluent in German and English in word and writing. Knowledge of any other language is an advantage
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; DrTax, and WinEur accounting software
  • Positive, flexible, steady under pressure and able to exercise independent judgment
