Who we are looking for

Director of Implementation Portfolio Management & Governance, EMEA reporting directly to Head of EMEA Alpha Implementation (Senior Vice President)

The role is being created to establish a senior experienced administrative function to support the rapid scale of growth occurring within Alpha in EMEA whilst maintaining appropriate risk and governance controls. The individual will have overall responsibility for active programmatic control and reporting on projects running in the region across implementation.

The role will also require the incumbent to lead projects building virtual teams across functions to deliver against pre-designed objectives and metrics supporting the Head of Alpha EMEA SMF function and broader Alpha & UK Management committee members. They will also have an important role to collaborate with partner functions across State Street especially CRD, Alpha Data, Product, Global Delivery, Commercial, Risk, Compliance & Legal Team to support mutual client projects, resource planning, portfolio management reporting.

In support of building strategic direction in the region, they will use highly developed programmatic skills to distil and interpret key reporting information and trend data needed to improve transparency on programme governance and standards adoption across teams and will create decision-making tools used by the management team to help determine strategic direction and prioritize focus.

What you will be responsible for

  • Advise and lead strategic and efficiency improvement activities for the Alpha Implementation Portfolio; supporting in identifying, solutioning, and executing their priorities
  • Managing day-to-day activities to ensure the implementation portfolio runs smoothly. Continuingly drive for ways to enhance efficiency and/or simplification
  • Develop and build on relationships with all stakeholders to improve responsiveness across a multi-stakeholder model
  • Support the Alpha Implementation lead in holding the implementation management accountable to their commitments. Ensuring the business units goals are met including;
    • In partnership with finance, Client Implementation Executives develop and monitor Implementation budgets actuals, and forecasts. Ensuring adequate oversight of the businesses financial performance
    • Manage the business’s hiring plan to budget
    • Commercial oversight of prospective deals (including approval and governance) and in-flight implementations
    • Manage internal funding disputes and commitments across the Alpha stakeholders
    • Management information reporting across the implementation portfolio for implementation, governance, and risk committees
  • Manage the strategic partner relations and mediate and resolve disputes, as directed by the implementation lead, internally and externally with vendors
  • Deputise for implementation lead at nominated internal committees as part of the SMF function; including Risk, Billing, Audit, etc

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of financial markets and investment management processes
  • Degree qualified with a financial or analytical discipline preferred, or relevant experience within the financial services industry
  • Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Leadership and an ability to bring together teams across different levels and disciplines within the organization
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Desire and willingness to drive to the route cause of issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
