Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to assist in providing business and resource management advice, and support to decision making, for a highly deployable, diverse RAF station and Force headquarters, with units spread across the UK and overseas.
This post is advertised at 37 hours per week
Job description
You will work in a team to deliver a range of resource advice, governance and assurance to units based at RAF Wittering, and Support Force units in the UK and overseas.
Person specification
You will be directly responsible for scrutinising resource requests for purchases and hospitality and analysing losses and write off data. You will report direct to the Business Manager, acting as their deputy, and at times may be called upon to brief Force and Station execs on public expenditure, and civilian workforce.
You may be called on to brief and advise on various financial matters including, but not restricted to, the following:
- Governance and Assurance (G&A) for all financial and management accounting
- Requirement scrutiny
- Provision of business and resource management advice, including in-year management
- Support to decision making
- Provision of volumetric and timing data to HQ AIR Finance Team
- Investigation of issues raised by HQ AIR Finance Team
- POC for consolidating and investigating Losses and Write Offs
- Travel and Subsistence and EPC Management and Audit Functions
- Income Generation/Wider Markets
- Business Cases and Investment Appraisals
- In Year Reward and Thank You Award – maintenance of station/unit records
- Fraud
- Parenting Statements
- Official Hospitality

This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
