We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Business Solutions team based in our Kent - Maidstone office.  Our Business Solutions team support our smaller to medium sized clients with high quality accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax, company secretarial and related services.

Main duties likely to include:

  • Bookeeping duties for our BSG clients using Sage, Xero or our client’s software as applicable.
  • Preparation of periodical management accounts for our BSG clients and reporting in their required format.
  • Client VAT Return preparation.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and corporation tax returns, on an ad hoc basis.  Training can be provided if of interest.
  • Adhering to deadlines or at least notifying the client and Manager where problems are likely to arise.
  • Take responsibility for your work and the ability to multi task in an organised manner. The ability to plan your own work around client deadlines.
  • Developing good rapport with clients, listening to their needs.
  • Writing professional letters and emails to clients.
  • Offer clients a value added service, tailored to client’s needs and recognise what information they are looking for from their reports and accounts. Understand their internal controls and where weaknesses are identified, suggest improvements.
  • Be aware of what services Crowe can offer to enable identification of areas where a client could benefit from other services and discuss cross selling opportunities with the client manager.
  • Helping others within the department and acting as a team player.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Bookkeeping using Sage/Xero preferable
  • Diligent and attention to detail.
  • Able to work on own initiative, but also be a team player.
  • Able to focus and concentrate in a busy working environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of preparation of management accounts and VAT returns
  • Experience of working on SRA Accounts Rules reviews
