The tax requirement, based in Bangalore, will initially be responsible for building a team and process around state streets global compliance. Once this team and process is established, the role will involve managing the team to provide dedicated support to State Street Corporation’s global tax compliance operations. The successful candidate will report to the relevant Global Accounting Operations leadership locally and working closely with State Street’s Corporate Tax team in London in addition to local Financial Controllers to ensure timely completion of all filing responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Tax compliance specialists in Bangalore, reviewing deliverables to ensure high quality and communicating with the tax team on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
VAT
- Preparation, review and submission of global VAT returns and global Indirect tax statutory filings (approx. 750 per year)
- Manage tax compliance team to ensure appropriate resourcing and timely and accurate delivery.
- Preparation of VAT payments.
- Manage global VAT and Tax Compliance workflow rolling calendar.
- Drive improvements and efficiencies in VAT processes and reporting
- Provide Tax and VAT expertise to junior team members and Accounts Payable
- Ensure VAT and Corporate Tax processes are well documented
Corporate Tax
- Preparation and first level review of ‘Tax Pack’ for the corporate tax returns.
- Tax analysis of tax sensitive accounts.
- Corporate Tax coding of invoices at point of entry.
- Preparation of Corporate Tax installment payments.
- Preparation and review of monthly Corporate Tax accruals.
Skills

- Technically proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Commercially aware with a good understanding of the business impacts
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong academic background educated to at least degree level with 5-8yrs Experience
- An experienced Manager in an equivalent role and specific tax management experience
- Financial services experience is preferred but not essential
