Financial Accountant

A brilliant role offering exposure a large subsidiary of an international FMCG business and will have an EMEA focus. The role is very well rounded having technical and commercial responsibilities, so would be great for a candidate straight from practice or with 1-2 years PQE. This role will support the Senior Financial Accountants in all aspects of accounting, reporting and compliance primarily in respect of the UK legal entity and its branches.

Description

• Assist SFA (Senior Financial Accountant) in the production of annual statutory financial statements for the UK entity and any relevant branches as necessary

• Assist with preparation of CIT estimates and final CIT calculation for the UK Entity and any relevant branches

• Assist with annual internal and external audit requests

• Provide analysis & breakdowns of tax sensitive accounts to ensure all tax dis-allowable expenses are correctly identified (T&E)

• Assist FC and SFA's with process standardisation & process improvement projects (eg. transfer pricing and subs/branch reporting)

• Perform variance analysis of statutory BS accounts as well as P&L on annual basis

• Assist with timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes & management reporting

• Design and build reports to improve monthly/quarterly review of the financials

• Perform detailed monthly review of BS accounts and explanation of variances

• Completion of statutory returns for Government and other bodies requests

• Assist SFA with fixed asset accounting and the cooler programme

• Assist SFA with annual fixed assets verification project

• Assist SFA on various projects as/when required

Profile

• Straight from practice or 1-2 years PQE

• Multi-national experience - FMCG preferred but not essential

• Transfer pricing awareness/experience preferred but not essential

• Experience of group accounting preferred with exposure to foreign currencies

• Financial and logistics systems skills - SAP/BW preferred

• Advanced Excel skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Good analytical skills and ability to see bigger picture are a must

• Previous experience of how to approach/perform variance analysis and to be able to produce clear & relevant commentary

• Self-starter with excellent communication skills

• Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload
