Position Summary:
The Commercial Finance Analyst partners with Commercial teams and other functions to deliver data-informed analysis to drive revenue and margin. The key responsibilities are to ensure accuracy of standard cost, margin reporting and data-driven analytics. They will provide financial models and data analysis to assess new opportunities and work with commercial leaders during the annual price renewal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Use SQL and other data analysis tools to collaborate with multiple teams and deliver data-informed reporting and analysis in sales performance, margins, and forecasting.
- Run data-driven performance reporting for the entire division in Europe and align figures with other finance departments.
- Co-ordinate with sales directors and consolidate their data inputs to deliver accurate monthly forecasts using SQL and data analysis techniques.
- Build and maintain data-centric customer reports including customer incentives to ensure payments are made accurately and on time.
- Challenge commercial teams by analysing sales data and models to review performance and forecasts.
- Ensure correct margin performance by updating the standard costs and reporting data-driven insights on the impact these will make to the business.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
- Ability to leverage data to understand key business drivers using good commercial awareness.
- Knowledge and experience of accounting packages; proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of Microsoft Power BI and SQL database management would be advantageous.
