The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world class last mile operation. Amazon aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and in the most cost-effective way possible. The Capacity Planning Team provides AMZL with cost-optimal and flexible labor capacity solutions for in-station and on-road operations, year-round and enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases. This role is based out of the London corporate office LHR35

In order to support the fast growth of AMZL, we are constantly monitoring, evaluating and adjusting our planning inputs and insights. As an L6 Sr. Analyst, Analytics & Insights in the Capacity Planning Team, you will a) translate key strategic questions into insights and forecasting planning inputs, b) having a direct impact on decision made by the team to ensure we are constantly improving our planning quality and processes; c) influence and manage a team of L4/5 analysts to provide technical guidance and program manage the delivery of critical projects and initiatives and d) Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

This position requires people management skills, high judgement, excellent analytical abilities and a creative mind to invent solutions to existing problems. It also offers broad exposure to various business, operational, financial, and technical teams across Amazon. Key job responsibilities

1. Act as a technical lead to set the technical standards for the team

2. Program manage the work done by self and fellow L4/5 analysts to ensure successful delivery of critical projects and initiatives

3. Keep the team organized by leading bi-weekly Sprints to ensure prioritization of projects in line with team roadmap

4. Translate key strategic questions into projects, identifying requirements and relevant stakeholder groups

5. Develop insights from the historical trends, including reports and documents, share and interpret those learnings with senior leadership

7. Actively explore and design scalable execution plans for long-term strategic planning opportunities

A day in the life

DILO for this would be:

1. Engaging with talented group of analytical leaders in the team who work on complex business problems

2. Connecting with business partners (Planning team, S&OP, Central Ops, Country DSP ... etc) to understand the business problem and build an analytical solution to address the same

3. Develop and deploy an analytical solution (from setting up data pipeline to building a user-friendly report/application/analysis) and share insights back to business leaders using a white paper

4. Actively engaging in Scrum Sprints to win as a team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor's or master's degree - ideally in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Econometrics

• Previous analytical work experience

• Strong data analysis skills, ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data

• Experience in mathematical modeling (statistics, optimization, econometrics)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences.

• Good team player and the ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations

• Creative and ideas-driven in finding new solutions/ designing innovative methods, systems and processes.

• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in defining technical standards for the team

2. Experience using SQL to extract data from a database or data warehouse and building ETL pipelines

3. Visualization tools experience: Quicksight/Tableau or similar tools

4. Scripting Experience: R/Python/C++

5. Experience with AWS solutions (S3, Athena, Sagemaker)
