Job Description & Summary

The primary responsibility of the accounts receivable accountant is to ensure timely and accurate allocation of payments received, while keeping record of all incoming payments.

The job also involves resolving any receivables-related issues, following up with the engagement teams. Additionally, the accounts receivable accountant must have a good understanding of ERP systems, possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and work collaboratively with other team members. The goal of the accounts receivable accountant is to support the financial stability of the company and ensure that all incoming payments are accurately recorded and processed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and apply client payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaising with LoS on unidentified payments and ensuring that the appropriate allocations are received and applied on time.
  • Write-off bad debts, in liaison with the engagement teams while ensuring proper adherence to the policy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to address client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service related to accounts receivable matters.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts receivable balances and preparing related reports.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounts receivable regulations to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements when necessary.
  • Contribute to process standardization and optimization initiatives within the Shared Service Centre.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as assigned by the Team Lead or Manager.

  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a similar role within an accounting professional services company.
  • Solid understanding of accounts receivable processes, best practices, and relevant accounting principles (e.g., GAAP).
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and systems (e.g., SAGE) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required, proficiency in Arabic is preferred
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification is a plus (CA, ACCA, CMA,CPA).
