Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Audit/Accounting Intern to join our dynamic Audit and Assurance team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in audit and assurance processes and compliance within a leading organization.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Assistance:
- Assist in conducting audits by gathering data, performing analytical reviews, and documenting findings.
- Support the preparation of audit workpapers, ensuring that they are organized, complete, and ready for review.
- Participate in risk assessments and identify potential areas for process improvement.
- Conduct preliminary tests of financial controls and help verify adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist in drafting audit reports and communicate findings to audit teams.
- Organize and maintain audit documentation for easy access and review.
Accounting Assistance:
- Help in preparing and updating financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in reconciling accounts and verifying financial data for accuracy.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing entries and verifying data.
- Participate in processing accounts payable and receivable, including reviewing invoices and maintaining records.
- Aid in the maintenance of general ledgers and the analysis of account variances.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree/certification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) is a plus.
- Problem-solving oriented.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
