As part of the Global Treasury team the role primarily leads the execution and ongoing enhancement of State Street Bank International’s liquidity management framework and related regulatory obligations. This involves engaging with senior executives, presenting to Senior Management committees, providing Leadership and managing multiple local and global stakeholders across various business units.
The major responsibilities include:
- First line of defense role leading the continued enhancement of the liquidity risk governance framework including policies, guidelines, and procedures ensuring compliance with industry best practice, and internal and regulators’ requirements.
- Responsible to manage liquidity stress testing efforts including methodology design, modelling and analysis related to all liquidity risks.
- Employ strong knowledge, understanding and awareness of compliance and regulation, to advise, develop and evolve internal policies, procedures and processes to meet regulatory requirements
- Apply appropriate analysis and use sound judgement to make strategic and operational recommendations to meet regulatory compliance goals and objectives
- Ensure appropriate evaluation and monitoring of key liquidity risks to communicate relevant risk information to senior management including Treasurer and Chief Risk Officer.
- Foster an environment that promotes compliance, continuous improvement, appropriate and effective controls, self-detection and remediation
Other responsibilities include:
- Coordinate SSBI GT’s efforts specific to recovery and resolution planning
- Take the lead in for SSBI on Global Treasury projects and initiatives
Candidates should have the following characteristics:
- Excellent analytical skills and good knowledge of banking regulation specific to Liquidity
- Exhibit a high level of flexibility towards undertaking additional responsibilities as required to contribute to the overall team’s success
- Project Management skills and ability to lead efforts in an environment with multiple stakeholders and potential competing priorities
- Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Professional, dependable and exhibit a high level of integrity
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, delegate team tasks while maintaining focus on priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in a related field (Finance, Economics, accounting etc.) M.Sc. preferred
- 8+ Years of experience in banking, financial services with some exposure to liquidity risk management in either a first- or second-line role
- First leadership experience desired.
