About the Role

Supporting BDO’s growth, the Manager for Partner Tax Returns is responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of allocated partner tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations and providing strategic tax planning and advisory services. This role will also support reviewing and collating the partner tax returns process nationally and supporting delivering a seamless and consistent offering to all partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete an analysis of current processes of partner tax returns across the offices, with deliverable of presenting a recommendation and project plan to ensure this is a nationally consistent and centralised function.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely lodgement of partner tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Review complex tax returns and provide guidance to junior staff on tax-related matters.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise tax positions and minimise tax liabilities for partners.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure the firm's tax practices are compliant with current laws.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior tax staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, including partners and the CFO.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Proven experience in a professional services firm with a focus in complex individual and trust tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in report writing and presenting to management.
