Job Full Description

We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeping Manager role in Burnaby. This is a full-time & permanent role with a public accounting firm.

The candidate considered, must have experience within public and/or legal accounting. This role reports directly to the Partners at the firm. Ideal candidates will have a passion for delivering top-notch bookkeeping & accounting service to monthly clients.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of public or legal accounting experience is mandatory, 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • College diploma or university degree with a focus on accounting
  • Must have working experience & fluency with the following: MS Office Suite, QuickBooks (online & desktop) and Sage 50/Simply Accounting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent with payroll & tax preparations: T4, T5 slips & tax regulation compliance
  • Excellent communication skills: written & verbal
  • Set-up to effectively work remotely at home
  • Capable of working through high-volume periods - overtime during tax season to meet client demands
Duties:
  • Reporting directly to the Partners of the firm
  • Full-cycle accounting tasks for a diverse clientele base from small to medium-sized enterprises
  • Correspond with clients & ensuring their needs are met
  • Oversee all aspects of bookkeeping operations, ensuring accuracy & completeness of financial records
  • Supervise & review the bookkeeping tasks performed by junior remote bookkeepers & providing guidance & feedback to maintain high standards
  • Act as a main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, & ensuring excellent client service
  • Lead the recording of daily & monthly business transactions, preparing comprehensive accounting reports
  • Handle payroll processing & prepare T4 and T5 slips
  • Manage transaction services & preparation of client internal financial statements
  • Provide support & training on accounting software: Sage 50, QuickBooks online & desktop to clients as necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality & handle sensitive information with the utmost professionalism
  • Work closely with a diverse team & client base
  • Working paid overtime during high-volume periods, including tax season, to meet client demands

  • 9:00am - 5:00pm, flexible to start at 7am & 8am as well.
  • $55,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience
