Lead Quality Auditor
Full Time
Derby/Hybrid

What you will be doing:


We are currently recruiting 2 x Lead Quality Auditor roles, these roles are a core part of the Civil Aerospace Quality and Assurance function based in Derby. In this role, you will be expected to complete Audits within our Rolls Royce domestic facilities and our suppliers as either a lead or support auditor. This role supports our Civil, Defence and Aftermarket business and will provide a fantastic development opportunity.

The role will provide leadership, expertise, and direction on Quality to the aligned business area through a strategy of Assure, Protect and Enable, so that the business can achieve its goals, enhance its reputation and deliver customer satisfaction.

You will foster strong working relationships across all functions, you will help enable the aligned business to deliver the goal of Zero Defects through the continuous feedback of audit findings and themes, reducing the risks from technical, human and organisational factors to our products.

Responsibilities
You'll be conducting auditing work:
  • Lead and conduct audits internally and externally
  • Co-ordinate the quality-related risk assessment of the business areas in preparation of the yearly supplier audit program
  • Monitor audit NCR's and corrective actions, working closely with the business to drive robust closure
  • Perform auditor training, including theoretical and practical coaching of trainees and already authorised auditors. Establish training material for qualification of auditors (e.g. SABRe, AS13100, KMS, AS9100, RRMS)
  • Lead improvement projects to continue to improve capability in all areas of Audit and achieve Assurance KPI's and targets.

  • Professionally qualified with relevant experience in quality and aerospace industry
  • Ideally, have a broad knowledge of product through the life cycle
  • Have knowledge of airworthiness regulations
  • Experience of influencing and building relationships at different levels
  • Ability to influence and assess the related Quality implications in a challenging operational environment
  • Willing and able to conduct regular travel within the UK and overseas is essential to this role
  • Well developed customer and relationship management skills to work as part of the Business and Quality Leadership team, and with other internal and external stakeholders and other Industry bodies

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7 - 10.
