Here's what you'll be doing:
* Develops and implements strong internal controls and ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures
* Identifies policies that are due for periodic review and ensures review process is done and authorized by senior management, where necessary
* Reviewing documented policies and protocols on behalf of the organization to ensure in line with general accepted policies and procedures
* Maintaining a compliance resource library for team's reference
* Assessing credit worthiness of customers seeing credit arrangements
* Prepares goods and services reporting for The Barbados Revenue Authority for the purpose of income tax filing
* Maintaining compliance programs to ensure the team operates in accordance with Company policies and protocols
* Determining compliance metrics and establishment of a system for tracking them
* Manages audit requests, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely submission of receivables requests.
* Manages ad hoc government audits as required
* Reviews of financial results and issues significant variances report to Head of Finance by working day 4
* Reviews account receivable accounts and prepares detailed provision analysis monthly for submission to Head of Finance by working day 4.
* Provides support with statistical submissions relating to trade receivables
* Provides month end credit balance reclass journals monthly for loading to Blackline.
* Reviews balance sheet accounts in Blackline monthly.
* Maintains IT tracker to ensure project related matters are addressed appropriately closed.
* Coordinates meetings as required to resolve team issues
* Reviews proposals on process updates to ensure appropriate accounting flow of transactions
We'll make a match if you meet the following requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance related discipline
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
* Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
* Accounting experience would be an asset
* Strong Analytical skills
* Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal skills
