Role:  Assistant Accountant

Location: London – Hybrid Office & Home (1 day a week in the office)

About the role:  

Due to the growth of the business mkodo is looking for Assistant Accountant. It is an exciting hands-on role working directly with the Finance Director. This role is ideal for someone with experience in similar role and wishes to gain more experience.  

Main responsibilities are:  

  • Bookkeeping on Quickbooks in multicurrency
  • Run monthly payroll
  • Maintain fixed assets register
  • Identify opportunities to simplify/improve accounts processes and internal controls
  • Answer and investigate any accounting related queries
  • Verifying and reconciling contractors tables with billing information
  • Streamline processes to assist with revenue recognition and cost accruals
  • Prepare and submit HMRC returns (VAT & EC Sales List)
  • Own AP process; preparing cashflow report and payment file on weekly basis
  • Support Month-end reports and various other management reports
  • Support mkodo in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of its ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Adhere to all relevant mkodo ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies, procedures and requirements at all times. Complete any reasonable tasks relating to the mkodo ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Key Skills & Attributes:  

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified or studying towards their qualification.
  • Has an experience in a similar role and demonstrated efficient, accurate and timely accounting.
  • Previous payroll preparation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication skills to work with colleagues at all levels within the business.
  • Self-starter with an eye for details and willingness to go above and beyond their job role.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a commercial environment to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the iGaming market – lottery, sportsbook, casino, bingo.

Nice to have:

  • Quickbooks experience would be an advantage.
  • Financial modelling experience and knowledge.
  • Experience working in a dynamic/commercial environment.
