About the job
- Prepare and review accurate, timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings in compliance with local and international standards.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Support internal and external audit activities, liaising with auditors to resolve any queries.
- Ensure financial reports are compliant with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements and disclosures in line with IFRS 17 requirements, providing insights into the impact on financial reporting and KPIs.
- Coordinate with actuarial, finance, and IT teams to implement processes that ensure accurate IFRS 17 reporting.
- Provide technical expertise on IFRS 17 accounting policies, participating in training sessions and advising on policy applications.
- Drive the development and implementation of IFRS 17-related controls and reconciliations, working closely with relevant teams to ensure compliance.
Skills and experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- At least 5 years' of experience in financial reporting within life insurance, or from a Big 4 audit background with exposure to insurance clients.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, with recent experience or familiarity with IFRS 17 standards highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail, complemented by strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and work collaboratively across various teams and departments.
