Our Finance department is the biggest department in Shell Business Operations in Kraków and offers many possibilities to expand your skills & knowledge.

The purpose of this position is to provide support in handling Trading Settlements daily operations. An Associate is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and process compliance as well as identifying shortcomings in current processes, systems and procedures within assigned sub-processes.

Shell Trading provides a comprehensive portfolio of products and services associated with crude oil and refined products, natural gas, electrical power, emissions, chemicals trading including shipping services. Currently the Trading Settlements activities are broadly divided into two areas, North America (NA) and WONA (World outside NA).

The Trading Settlements processes are complex, risk exposed due to ever changing regulatory environment and often time critical. They involve close cooperation with different teams (Traders, Operations, Tax, Financial Accounting, Process Excellence, etc.) within the Trading business at the various Trading locations.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To provide support in handling daily settlements activities.
  • To ensure the receivables are followed up proactively and cash realized on or before the contractual due date within a defined scope.
  • To follow documented Work Instructions and agreed Ways of Working with no deviations with regular guidance from senior colleagues or line manager.
  • To support Audit requirements.
  • To support a manager and stakeholders in handling specific queries, data verification and also gathering information.
  • To follow the escalation matrix defined for the process.
  • To demonstrate courtesy, tact and effectiveness in providing and obtaining information.

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in economic, accounting or finance area or equivalent accounting courses.
  • Previous experience in relevant accounting environment.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting system is desirable.
  • Good level of English (written and oral).
