A leading property company is seeking a Financial Controller to manage its accounting and finance department. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong accounting knowledge and leadership capabilities.

Description
- Produce quarterly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, including KPIs and extended analysis, for presentation to the General Manager and the Group Financial Controller.
- Prepare statutory accounts for a number of companies, including consolidated accounts.
- Prepare service charge accounts and review month-end reports and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor costs and negotiate new contracts or renewals with suppliers.
- Manage monthly salaries and liaise with the payroll provider.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, tax advisors, lenders, insurance brokers, and bankers.
- Lead a small Accounts team to align their duties with business objectives.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and other tax filings.
- Devise and monitor financial control systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and organisational structure in Sage 200.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies across ledgers and manage inter company balances and settlements.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Group Financial Controller.
Profile
A successful Financial Controller should have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Experience in a leadership role within the property industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Proficiency in financial software.
