We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our reputable UK based accountancy firm. In this role, you will take on a key position within our team, providing expert accounting services to our diverse clientele. You will play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity, delivering exceptional client service, and contributing to the growth and success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:

Client Accounting Services: Manage a portfolio of clients, including SMEs, sole traders, partnerships, and corporate entities. Provide a comprehensive range of accounting services, such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, VAT returns, and management accounts preparation.

Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP or IFRS standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Assist clients with year-end procedures, tax computations, and liaison with HMRC.

Taxation Advisory: Offer taxation advice and planning services to clients, including personal tax, corporation tax, and VAT matters. Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and advise clients on tax-efficient strategies to minimize liabilities.

Audit Support: Support audit engagements by preparing audit schedules, reconciliations, and working papers. Collaborate with audit teams to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor on financial and accounting matters. Proactively identify opportunities to add value and provide tailored solutions to meet clients' needs.

Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor junior members of the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the firm.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance service delivery. Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to optimize workflows and enhance client experience.
Qualifications:
- ACA or ACCA qualification is essential; additional qualifications such as CTA or CIMA are advantageous.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a UK-based accountancy firm, with a strong understanding of UK accounting standards and taxation regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in client accounting services, financial reporting, taxation, and audit support.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
