EY Namibia is looking for students who will be completing their CTA or PGDA in 2026 to start a Training Contract and Articles in 2027.

Primary purpose of this role
EY Namibia is a registered training office. Candidates who are interested in completing their articles in pursuit of a career as a Chartered Accountant (Nam) or ACCA are encouraged to apply. As a Trainee Accountant, you will be a professional member our Assurance Team. Together with our substantial investments in technology, knowledge, and learning resources for our audit professionals, you will be part of the team that delivers quality assurance services to our clients and their stakeholders. You will be expose to a wide portfolio of audit engagements, allowing you to learn and grow professionally and socially. During your articles, you will be required to regularly complete certain specified competencies in line with becoming a CA.

What you will be doing
- Service clients in a diverse range of industries including, but not limited to Mining, Construction, Retail and Consumer Products.
- Assist with annual financial statement audits as per requirements of the Namibian Companies Act.
- Work with a group of diverse individuals to ensure client deadlines are met.
- Participate in continues learning to acquire and develop technical, professional, and soft skills.
- Deliver quality assurance services to our clients and their stakeholders.
What we require
- CTA or PGDA degree from a SAICA and ICAN accredited tertiary institution.
- Candidates who passed the Initial Test of Competence (ITC) Examinations will have an added advantage.
- Candidate perusing their studies towards ACCA are also encouraged to apply.

Skills and attributes for success
- Recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from basic analysis of the financial statements and communicate them to the team.
- Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the
- Engagement objectives, client's engagement history, and planned audit approach. Challenge procedures used in the past and attempt to enhance audit techniques.
- Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client's environment.
- Maintain a strong client focus, be responsive to client requests, and develop/maintain productive working relationships with client personnel. Stay informed of current business/economic developments relevant to the client's business.
- Develop people through teamwork, integrity, and leadership. Collaborate with team members to set goals and responsibilities.
- Contribute ideas/opinions to the audit teams and listen/respond to other team members' views. Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Bring potential opportunities to the team's attention. Seek, develop, and present ideas to apply EY's knowledge and services.
