Job Description
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be an active team member and provide support to managers and key stakeholders for the successful execution of client projects;
- Provide input and contribute to the planning and delivery of technical accounting (IFRS / IPSAS) engagements, including work plans, timelines, and project management;
- Support our audit teams on complex accounting issues (IFRS);
- Provide input and contribute to the delivery of finance transformation projects, including the development of target operating models, optimization of financial transactional processes, service delivery models and technology;
- Provide input and support on financial reporting projects such as developing the chart of accounts, developing a sustainable close and reporting process for internal and external reporting;
- Support various teams on IPO readiness engagements and provide analysis of accounting issues related to capital raising, IPOs and other debt-raising initiatives
- Support our clients with their capital-raising strategies and objectives and gaining an in-depth understanding of how companies raise capital;
- Perform gap assessment to monitor operational effectiveness and support clients deliver remediation activities;
- Identify and flag risks in the project and work on mitigating the identified risks
- Provide inputs and support on report writing, presentations and proposal preparation
- Develop expertise and knowledge of various sectors and markets and stay up to date on market and industry trends
- Maintain strong relationships with middle to senior-level staff internally and externally
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other appropriate academic major or equivalent/relevant tertiary degree
- Professional accountancy or finance qualification or working towards gaining one (ICAEW-ACA, ACCA, CPA)
Work experience requirements:
- Minimum 4-5 years of advisory or audit experience with a proven track record of outstanding performance (preferably in another Big 4)
- Experience in the Middle East market is highly recommended
Knowledge / Technical Skills:
- Good IFRS and IPSAS knowledge, strong technical skills, ability to research technical issues
- Demonstrate awareness of non-technical accounting matters (chart of accounts, policies and procedures, tax etc.)
- Proficient in drafting accounting manuals
- Understanding of finance business processes, finance controls and target operating models
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong financial model development skills
