Role/ Department:
The Guernsey Financial Reporting team has a senior accountant position open. The team is responsible for ensuring that the financial statements of a complex multi-billion dollar book of fiduciary clients within the Institutional Asset Owner & Global Family office fiduciary Team are prepared promptly, accurately, and to the highest standards.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintenance of accounting system records, including bank reconciliations and accruals accounting.
- Process is semi-automated and involves clearing exceptions.
- Preparation of financial reporting for client entities including Trusts and Companies, in accordance with best practice, relevant reporting standards and professional and regulatory requirements and on a timely basis.
- Liaison with relationship and account managers to ensure all key accounting activity has been captured and accounted for appropriately in accord with FRS102 / IFRS or relevant accounting standards.
- Coordination of the audit process (if necessary)
Skills/ Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Thorough Knowledge of accounting standards (FRS102 / IFRS) and Guernsey Trust / Company Law.
- Experience in preparing accounts in a financial services / fiduciary environment.
- Experience of preparing accounts for consolidated groups (100% owned) would be an advantage.
- Good IT skills – Excel to Intermediate level, including pivot tables / Word / Teams
- Accurate with attention to detail
- Time Management and organisational skills
- Team Worker
- Qualified Accountant (CAT/ACCA or ACA)
