Department Profile
The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate, Currency Products, Commodities, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, derivatives, lending and repo products, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.
From the largest global institutions to innovative new hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instruments including stocks, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities. Our professionals provide liquidity and content to clients around the world, actively assessing and managing risk, trading securities, and planning and executing transactions in the fast-changing markets. Background on the Team
As part of the Fixed Income Division, the Trading Desk Assistant is responsible for working with and supporting the G10 Interest Rate US Trading desk in Mumbai. The team covers Asia, EMEA and North America hours supporting Fixed Income and Equity markets and is functionally split based on the area of work.
Primary Responsibilities
The role involves working with and supporting the G10 Interest Rate US Trading desk in Mumbai. The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a good background in mathematical analysis and strong understanding of the fixed income markets/products, as well as an understanding of trade execution and trade lifecycle management.
Description:
- Support the New York Interest Rate US Trading Desk in Mumbai [US working hours]
- Market data analysis to identify attractive trades through data analytics of market and client data.
- Perform trade capture & risk reviews including risk moves, lifecycle management, trade amendments.
- Provide support to end of day P&L reviews.
- Educational background in Finance, mathematics, or engineering.
- Strong understanding in math/engineering, economics finance
- Understanding of Interest rate products and markets (Government Bonds, Repo and, derivatives)
- Min of 2 years of relevant work experience in fixed income.
- Proficiency in MS office products Excel, Power point.
- Must be self-motivated, confident and possess good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Qualifications
Preferred credential
- Strong knowledge and expertise in excel, with ability to analyse and summarize large amounts of data.
- Experience with Morgan Stanley booking systems, Trend, Genesis, STS, EOS (if internal only)
- Interest in macroeconomics and trading Background in statistics and/or data analytics
