About the Role

Job Title: Regulatory Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Accountant

Location: Perth/Glasgow

Salary: Circa£45,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

This role will be responsible for financial planning and analysis for the SSEN Transmission & Distribution businesses at a critical time of growth in the industry to aid net zero targets, reporting to the Senior Regulatory Finance Manager. Regulated by Ofgem, these businesses are subject to five year price control periods; and you will be supported to build your regulatory expertise while you learn on the job.

You will primarily be responsible for long-term financial modelling, which is a key driver in informing our strategic direction. This will involve interaction with the business to understand regulatory aims and priorities as well as a sound understanding of the regulatory mechanism. The role is also corporate finance focussed and will be key in both supporting and evaluating business decisions.

The role has a wide reach of stakeholders in addition to the business including our regulator Ofgem, investors, analysts, credit rating agencies and internal corporate functions.

This is a varied and challenging role with primary responsibilities as follows:

- Financial modelling of long-term forecasts for the Distribution and Transmission network companies, including the provision of financial insight and communicating the forecasts to key business stakeholders.

- Execution of Networks price control financial modelling to support business decisions and forecasting responsibilities.

- Reporting of regulatory performance to Ofgem.

- Providing regulatory finance support for the RIIO-2 and RIIO-3 price controls for both Distribution and Transmission.

- Key point of contact for interactions with our Regulation, Corporate Finance and Investor Relations colleagues with reference to both internal and external modelling.

- Establishing and maintaining a working relationship with Ofgem, specifically relating to price control queries.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have a:

- Full accounting qualification or hold a suitable alternative financial qualification.

- Ability to work to tight timescales, under pressure and deliver to a high standard.

- Pro-active attitude who uses their initiative to develop financial models and outputs.

- Confidence reviewing finance related elements of legal/regulatory documentation.

- Financial modelling experience is desirable

- Understanding of financial systems, data management and general application of estimation and calculation methodologies would be highly advantageous
