Trainee Accountant

Location: Islamabad Office / Work from Home (depending on individual circumstances)

Harkia Chartered Accountants is a London, UK-based, reputable ICAEW Chartered accounting firm providing comprehensive financial services to a diverse client base. We are currently seeking a 'Trainee Accountant' to join our team. As a Trainee Accountant, you will play a crucial role in assisting and preparing statutory accounts for limited companies under UK GAAP, FRS 102/105. You will also be responsible for various other ad-hoc accounting tasks, including VAT return preparation and bookkeeping using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, VT, and Excel. You will be closely working with Senior Managers and Client Managers. 

Responsibilities:

1. Assisting/Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies under UK GAAP, FRS 102/105.

2. Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping using QuickBooks, Xero, VT, and Excel.

3. Draft letters and emails for clients, ensuring clear and concise communication.

4. Prepare corporation tax returns and personal tax returns for clients.

5. Assist in the preparation of partnership accounts, including LLP (Limited Liability Partnership).

6. Assist in tax planning to maximize clients' financial benefits.

7. Prepare sole trader accounts and their respective tax returns.

8. Maintain accurate ledger records and schedules for all accounts.

9. You must pay attention to detail and have the ability to recognise anomalies. 

Requirements:

1. Must be ACCA Affiliate

2. We prefer that you have at least three months of experience in a UK-based accountancy practice, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided.

3. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members.

4. Strong knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 105, and UK GAAP.

5. We prefer that you have accounting software experience such as VT, Xero, and QuickBooks, but it is not essential. 

6. You must demonstrate professional behaviour by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the ACCA/ICAEW code of ethics and conduct at all times.

Salary Range: PKR 30,000 - PKR 40,000 per month
