Today, Caferwa Ltd is renowned for its specialty coffee from the Kivu Belt, forging key partnerships with international buyers. The company promotes its unique coffee through its franchised KN Cafe, aimed at expanding the knowledge and awareness of Kivu Belt specialty coffee.

About the role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for safeguarding the financial health of Caferwa Ltd and its subsidiary, KN Café, by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining sound financial policies, managing risks, and driving long-term financial strategies. The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management, and will ensure that financial goals align with the company's overall business objectives. The Finance Manager will lead the finance department, managing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, compliance, and operations for Caferwa Ltd and KN Café. This role involves developing and maintaining financial policies, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and analyzing market trends to guide business strategy. The Finance Manager will also manage currency fluctuations, bank charges, and mitigate financial risks, ensuring both the company's short-term and long-term financial stability. In addition, the role includes managing finance staff, overseeing tax compliance, and coordinating with external auditors and financial service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including reconciliations, tax declarations, payroll, invoicing, and transactions.
  • Supervise the finance and logistics department, including financial assistants and accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and legislation.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support business goals.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Manage foreign currency transactions, bank charges, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Provide senior leadership with financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external service providers for tax preparation, auditing, and banking services.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and stay up to date with technological advances in financial systems.
  • Maintain data privacy and financial data security standards.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or ACCA qualification preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong background in bookkeeping, financial regulation, and compliance.
  • Experience managing foreign currency fluctuations and their impact on business operations.
  • Proven track record of preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Expertise in mitigating financial risks and managing banking relationships.
