Department overview
- Under direct supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for the initial set up and maintenance of new Funds and responsible of the periodical liabilities review.
- The role will require involve strong communication between various internal departments while offering the opportunity to learn and upskill within a funds environment.
Main responsibilities
As a Fund Accountant you will be responsible for:
- Analysis of the Fund legal documentation and Transcription into our Fee grid template
- Setup and maintenance Accruals in Fund Accounting Application
- Periodical review of Payable accounts and Budget
- Cooperation within the payment team in regards to Invoices
- Cooperation related with the launch of new Fund, Sub-fund, Share-classes
- Cooperation related with fund mergers
- Cooperation related with fund liquidations
- Cooperation related to other events such as transfers in kind, changes of administrators, changes of portfolio managers, changes of custodian banks, etc.
- Responsible for identifying and resolving problems within established guidelines
- Expected to use some initiative but refer more complex problems to supervisors/experts
- Works effectively as a team member but also independently
Requirements
- Degree (University) in economics/business administration/accounting or Final secondary school examinations
- Work experience of at least 5 years in a similar position and environment and sound experience in fund accounting desirable
- Good knowledge of the securities / investment business, including derivative instruments, corporate actions and settlement
- Good knowledge of accounting principles in general and a numerical literate
- GP4 strong knowledge, good command of Excel
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Very good teamwork and communication skills.
- Fluent communication skills in English and French
- Willingness to travel within Europe if necessary
You are:
- Flexible, reliable, team-oriented, open and communicative personality. Ability to work under time pressure. Good organization and coordination skills. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Work experience in Fund accounting and strong knowledge of GP4.
- Analytical and problem solving skills are required.
