About the Role
Base Location: Dublin
Salary: €74,600 - €80,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
Due to the growth of our business, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our friendly, and supportive Tax team based in Dublin. This role offers great flexibility with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to spend around 2-3 days per week in our Leopardstown office while also enjoying the benefits of working from home. As Tax Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in managing tax compliance across SSE's businesses, including Renewables, Thermal, and Airtricity. The role combines hands-on tax compliance and advisory work, with opportunities to drive process improvements, implement technology solutions, and be involved in a range of projects. The main duties of the role include:
- Managing tax compliance across corporate and indirect taxes for the Irish group, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations.
- Overseeing corporate tax accounting and reporting, providing accurate and timely financial information.
- Acting as a key advisor to the finance team and broader business on a wide range of tax-related issues, delivering insights and providing guidance.
- Supporting the implementation of tax technology solutions and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline tax compliance.
- Supporting the Tax team on various projects and M&A transactions, gaining exposure to diverse and complex tax scenarios.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A Chartered Tax Advisor qualification.
- An accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) would be preferred, but is not essential.
- Substantial professional experience, ideally gained in a leading accounting firm or as an in-house tax manager, with a strong focus on direct taxes and some exposure to indirect taxes.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, demonstrating an approachable and collaborative style.
- Industry experience gained in sectors such as Energy, Construction, Utilities, or Large Capital Projects is beneficial, but not essential.
