Global Delivery is a critical part of the business operations at State Street. We have around 30,000 staff various locations around the world including our key hubs in EMEA, APAC and North America and our global hubs in Hangzhou, China, Krakow and Gdansk in Poland and Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai in India.
Functionally, we are the backbone and nerve center supporting the entire investment servicing lifecycle across our key asset classes - Asset Management, Asset Owners, Insurance, Alternatives including PE, RE and Hedge and the Official Institutions and a wide spectrum of investment servicing products.
Global Delivery India is an integral part of our global operations delivering custody, accounting, fund administration, alternatives, middle office, transfer agency and on-boarding services across multiple client segments, investment structures and domiciles.
We are looking to hire for India Lead of Alternatives Investor Services (IS) and AML, a part of the GD India Management team of ~250 employees across various locations in India.
This role is advertised to be in Bangalore or Hyderabad.
What you will be responsible for
Critical business priorities:
- Manage and develop a large IS and AML team for multiple locations including cross-border operations for the team.
- Assist in defining the strategic direction of the IS Business unit in line with Corporate and Department goals. Focus on client and investor service outcomes, problem solving, cooperating and communicating with the other Investor Services MD location leads and internal Alternatives BU leads to achieve shared success.
- Effectively manage direct and indirect budgetary responsibilities as outlined by the Global Head of IS.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all client and investor deliverables.
- Domain knowledge of Investor Services and AML Operations and ability to drive solutions in case of issues
- Establish and maintain relationship with internal risk and compliance departments ensuring effective communication and understanding of Industry related Regulatory requirements.
- Liase with IS SVP and Global MD’s and act as a point of contact in case of any issue or escalation
- Drive continuous improvement and transformation efforts at a client and IS Business unit level while ensuring robust control framework exists and is in line with corporate standards..
- Identify areas of opportunity to improve end-to-end production across Global Delivery processing teams and hub locations and partner with IT to execute on prioritized projects.
- Champion Productivity efforts across the department and at the same time improve productivity using productivity tools.
- Inspire and drive high performance in individuals and the team, enabling each member to understand their role in team and organization success inclusive of talent development, succession planning and employee engagement.

The candidate for the India Lead of Investor Services will possess and/or be able to demonstrate:
- A proven track record at a senior level to lead product functions in Global Delivery operations
- Over 18 years' experience running large operations teams within financial services.
- Technical knowledge of Transfer Agency activities and associated regulations
- Enterprise leadership skills managing client service delivery and business growth.
- Experience interfacing at a senior level with clients, service providers and regulators.
- Strong team leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication and presentation skills
- Focus on talent management, optimizing technology and managing operational risk
- Energy, enthusiasm and an obsession with service quality and delivering to our clients
- An ability to think strategically, managing complexity, change and multiple priorities
- A successful track record of delivering major operational or platform improvements
- A relevant graduate degree or masters qualification that can be leveraged in this role
