Our client, a Singapore-based automotive and B2B technology company, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead and transform their finance team as they expand locally and regionally. Reporting to the Group CFO, this role will oversee finance controllership, internal controls, accounting operations, and financial reporting, while also managing budgeting and forecasting.

Client Details

Our client is a Singapore-based automotive and B2B technology company that provides comprehensive solutions and services related to cars including ride-hailing, car leasing and limousine services. As the company continues to expand locally and regionally, they are seeking to hire a Financial Controller to lead and transform the finance team. This role will report directly to the Group CFO and will be responsible for developing internal control policies, overseeing finance controllership, operational accounting, and managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, serving as the subject-matter expert on all finance and accounting matters within the growing organization.

Description

  • Provide strategic leadership to the finance team, fostering cross-departmental collaboration within the company.
  • Design and implement internal controls to protect company assets while ensuring full compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Drive the development and execution of financial strategies, including forecasting and budgeting, to support business growth and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the management of the shared services centre to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of financial services across the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions, ensuring ongoing compliance and positive partnerships.
  • Direct treasury functions, including cash flow oversight and working capital management, to maintain the company's financial liquidity and stability.
  • Evaluate financial risks, taking necessary steps to safeguard the company's financial standing.
  • Lead or contribute to finance transformation projects aimed at optimizing processes, systems, and team performance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation, efficiency gains, and cost reductions.
  • Spearhead change management initiatives to ensure the seamless execution of transformation efforts.
  • Partner with senior leadership in formulating long-term financial strategies that align with the company's objectives.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent certification would be highly beneficial.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in finance and accounting, including at least 6 years in a leadership remit as a playing people manager.
  • Prior experiences in managing teams, highly beneficial if you have past experiences in growth-focused or start-up environments but not a must.
  • Experience overseeing shared services centres and leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver clear and confident presentations.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex tasks and develop strategic plans.
  • Hands-on, collaborative problem-solving approach, focused on operational financial excellence.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a proactive mindset.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, financial software, and business intelligence tools, with ERP implementation experience being highly advantageous.
