Finance Manager

We are seeking to recruit a Finance Manager to manage the financial function of our client's plant based in Malta. This role focuses on treasury function and taxation, ensuring the company is in a healthy position with cash and to be in in alignment with all regulations in place.

 

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a company which provides a vast range of solutions and services that cater to the needs of any cosmetic company in the packaging industry and is located in Zejtun.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be accountable for the day-to-day management of the financial function of the company. 
  • Produce timely management accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Be responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and any periodical forecasting that may be necessary from time to time.
  • Manage the costing process through the setting up labour and overhead absorption rates.
  • Be responsible for the cash flow management of the factory.
  • Be responsible to implement process changes within the financial function and also influence other departments to improve timeliness of financial information
  • Forms part of our client's management team responsible for the performance of the Malta factory.
  • Advises and assists the Managing Director on all aspects of finance for their functions.
  • Provide the Departmental heads and other support functions with financial requirements.
  • Participate in management meetings
  • Participate in and contribute to cross-functional teams as requested.
  • Keeps abreast with good practice in all aspects of finance as they apply to manufacturing through reading, training and participation with external groups or industry bodies.
  • Coordinate the year-end audit with the external auditors.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert user of financial analysis & presentation tools (e.g. Excel).
  • Analytical mind-set.
  • Capable of independent judgement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good leadership skills.

EDUCATION

Must be a qualified accountant, in possession of a valid warrant. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA or equivalent.

WORKING TIME

Monday to Friday, flexible hours from 08:30 till 17:00, 40 hours per week with 30 minutes daily break.
