Job Summary
The Director Finance, Cards, Personal Loan and Partnership role is responsible to support CFO, Personal & SME Banking in formulating & executing ideas, providing analytics and commercial insights, and driving financials performance management that advance the strategic and financial decisions facing the Global Head of Personal Banking, Credit Cards, and Personal Loan.
This includes partnering with the Global Personal Banking leadership team and country / Regional Business Banking Heads to establish a strong financial performance framework, provide independent inputs to commercial decisions, understanding & advising on internal & external business trends, and actively engaging in forward-looking financial scenarios/ outlook & 5-year corporate plan/budget. On Partnerships space, the role is expected to understand and contribute to the commercial terms of new partnerships, as well as evaluate performance of each partnership on ongoing basis.
The role also works closely with broader Finance teams – Group/Regional/Country in aligning performance management MIS, storyboarding, accounting, and treasury matters.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Provide support to Group Personal Banking, CCPL head, and top team to formulate various business strategies and ensure efficient deployment of resources and capital.
- Providing insights to Personal Banking MT on relevant internal and external trends and giving early insights into impact to strategy
- Tracking progress and results of initiatives and proactively engaging stakeholders to ensure that the business remains on course of profitability and growth
- Review and challenge strategic options and actions from Commercial lens to drive returns of the segment and bank as a whole.
Business & Processes
- Monthly tracking of Product/segment financials, providing insights into variance vs. budget as well as understanding financial performance trends
- Engaging Product/Segment MT on monthly performance trends, with insights on performance gaps and improvement opportunities
- Track balance sheet momentum against income performance, highlighting to MT areas of opportunity and a foresight to risk
- Monthly tracking of product/segment costs, ensuring accuracy of allocated costs to product/segment and identifying opportunities for cost efficiency and discussing these with MT
- Monthly tracking of detailed Product level financials, providing insights to MT on margin performance & other KPIs
- Ensuring full support to Global Product heads throughout the entire Corporate Plan and Budget processes
- Providing financial forecast including key drivers and metrics by incorporating business initiatives, macro-economic factors, and operational/strategic priorities
- Provide ad-hoc support to business initiatives including projects, reviews, and presentations
- Ad-hoc analysis to drive product profitability and returns as and when required
- Tracking of CPs and budgets as process unfolds to ensure alignment with regions
- Provide guidance on set up of infrastructure, such as new product, segmentation, partnerships
- Support broader Finance deliverables by coordinating between central finance and business
- Actively participate in all country reviews and regular momentum meetings to ensure actions are being taken to drive financial performance and execute strategic imperatives.
- Provide financial inputs & commercial insights into investments prioritization
- Prepare senior-level financial presentations, dashboard to succinctly highlight key trends, risk/opportunities, decisions to be made.
Skills and Experience
Risk Management
- Coordinate regular review with Risk on CCPL portfolios to ensure appropriate risk-return pricing and capital deployment across all countries/products
- Review Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) performance vis-à-vis balance sheet growth and returns for BB across all countries/products / sub-segments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting financial information, particularly in balance sheet forecasting and financial performance analysis, proactively identifying potential risks to the Group’s return and liquidity metrics.
- Ensure forward-looking scenario analysis tools adhere to stringent controls and governance standards.
Governance
- Ensure correct accounting and reporting standards are applied to CCPL business across all markets
- Facilitate review of country practices against Group accounting standard.

Our Ideal Candidate
- MBA / Chartered Account or equivalent qualification in Banking/Financial Services sector
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a leading financial services firm;
- Experience in Retail Banking / Unsecured Lending / Partnerships finance is a plus
- Demonstrated track record of business partnering
- Strong Commercial Acumen
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and returns of financial products
- Ability to develop forward-looking financials model, and impact analysis
- Ability to design/prepare senior-level financial presentations/dashboards
- Strong understanding of the Unsecured Lending industry
- Strategic and analytical problem-solving
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
