Tech Finance is responsible for the provision of financial control, reporting and planning services to the Technology division. We work closely with our stakeholders to help them understand their cost bases and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.
Technology Finance’s mission is to “influence strategic outcomes through transparent insights and passionate people”.
Your team forms part of the wider Technology Finance Team of approximately 90 people and provides financial management, planning and controls services to Group and Business Unit CIOs.
Your team’s primary role is to:
- Review and communicate the month end, quarterly and annual financial performance including any variances to Plan and Forecast
- Create and maintain a robust control environment via periodic review and challenge of the general ledger and balance sheet
- Provide decision support services including financial information, advice and insights to drive operational and financial efficiency
- Develop and deliver meaningful insights to drive better business performance. Including identification of cost optimisation opportunities, provision of objective analysis and underlying trends that may represent emerging issues
This role is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager and Manager(s) in providing financial & commercial support to the Technology Finance Business Unit.
Key duties will include:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and deliver commercial insights and analysis to drive optimised business outcomes
- Assist in consolidation of Technology results and support submissions to Group Finance
- Maintain robust financial control through:
- Processing of month end journals and P&L analysis
- Balance sheet analysis, substantiation and reconciliation
- Process improvement, standardisation and simplification
- Preparation, presentation and monitoring of annual Plan, Forecasts and Workforce Plans including engagement with business stakeholders
- Drive insightful reporting and analysis, including presentation of month end results
- Engage collaboratively across Finance and Business stakeholders to help drive business outcomes, enhance cost transparency and become a trusted advisor
- Positively contribute to team culture and the work environment
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities in analysis, reporting and financial control
- Undertaking all activities in accordance with CommBank’s values and support the Group’s purpose
- Positively contributing to the team culture and working environment
We're interested in hearing from people who have
- Accounting and financial skills; including financial analysis and control
- Experience in Public Practice or Commercial finance, ideally within a large corporate
- Exceptional presentation with the ability to prioritise and think outside the square
- High degree of commercial acumen, with experience in Information Technology a distinct advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Stakeholder management skills with proven experience in building and maintaining strong business relationships
