Job Description
You will manage a team of controllers in the Equities Cash Product control team to accurately report P&L daily and over the month end close. This will involve working with senior management to support the delivery of key objectives for the department.
As a Cash Equities Product Control - Vice President within the Equities Cash Product control team, you will manage a team of controllers to accurately report P&L daily and over the month end close. You will work closely with senior management to support the delivery of key objectives for the department. You will be expected to support your team, coach them through issues as they arise, and develop them and their processes to ensure good controls around all reconciliations. You will also proactively ensure your department is meeting the Product Control Minimum Standards and report these metrics to senior management. This role provides plenty of opportunities to work in conjunction with Front Office, Middle Office, Financial Control, Market Risk and VCG to resolve issues and improve overall knowledge.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages and is responsible of production, preparation and reporting of the Daily P&L and Risk and ensuring it is completed in an efficient and controlled manner
- Partners with the wider business to drive forth and implement robust controls and implement strategic initiatives
- Provides detailed analysis and commentary on the financials to desk heads, business managers, and senior finance management
- Coordinates various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner
- Identifies and implementing continuous improvements and ensuring processes adapt to meet changing systems and evolving requirements
- Drives key projects and initiatives related to all the above, as well as larger cross-business programs
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Extensive work experience within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
- People management experience
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Educated to at least Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) level
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Previous P&L or risk experience is preferable
- Solid understanding of Equity Derivatives and an understanding of associated products including accompanying risks
- Multiple years of people management experience and a track record of developing individuals and building a team
