Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Manager to take full responsibility for providing professional financial support, challenge, and control across a portfolio of high-value projects. This role requires a strong leader who will be an integral part of both the Senior Project Team and the Senior Delivery Unit Finance Team, ensuring that all projects meet and exceed financial targets within the company's policy framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead finance partnering as a core member of the Senior Management Team on projects.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial resource provision for all finance and administration activities.
- Chair monthly finance reviews with Senior Commercial Lead and Head of Contract to challenge and optimise the financial position.
- Oversee and ensure the Project Administration team is fit for purpose and operates efficiently.
- Provide financial input into project establishment and set-up.
- Maintain and update Project Delegated Authorities in line with group and division guidelines.
- Support the development of the finance project partnering role, fostering strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective financial controls are in place, with accurate reporting of project risks and opportunities.
- Manage compliance with processes, ensuring quality standards across the team.
- Produce budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Head of Contract and Senior Commercial Lead.
- Drive cost control, cash, and working capital management across projects.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, and manage any client audit requirements effectively.
Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Full professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to drive financial performance in a project environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on delivering results and continuous improvement.
