PAYABLES ASSISTANT
This is a great opportunity for a resourceful and curious individual to progress their accountancy career, with support towards qualification, in a varied and interesting role with a multinational business. We are the world’s leading manufacturer of highly detailed, scale model cars for the motorsport and luxury car/ supercar sectors and as a result of growth and restructuring, we are looking for a payables assistant to join our Bristol based head office finance team.
The job:
- All purchase ledger processes, including invoice entry, timely payment and query resolution
- Buying consumables, services, and tools for the Bristol Head Office
- Validate and process staff expense claims
- Liaise and make travel bookings where necessary
You need to have:
- An excellent standard of spoken and written English
- A logical approach to problem solving underpinned by good numeracy skills
- Basic level of Excel competency
- A high level of honesty and personal integrity
- Good interpersonal skills
- The ability to prioritize your workload and complete tasks accurately and efficiently
- A minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent at grade 4 or better to include Maths and English.
- Commitment to work towards qualified accountant status. After completion of a probationary period, the job holder would be entered into a Level 7 apprenticeship to undertake this study. We would consider candidates needing to start at Level 3 or Level 4 before progressing further.
- A sense of commercial decision making and understanding of basic decision logic, and other considerations such as risk or ethics.
- Ability to self-review work and identify possible errors.
- Building awareness of professional standards applicable to their work including IFRS, auditing standards, basic tax and VAT, and anti-money laundering legislation.
You should be:
- Confident, personable, with an ability to build relationships quickly.
- A team-player.
- Curious and resourceful
- Familiar with modern ledger systems, ideally, but this is not essential as training will be given.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with flexibility for hybrid working, although regular attendance at our Bristol office will be required for training, meetings and the performance of some elements of the role.
