Job Description
We are currently looking for a Payroll professional to join our dedicated Payroll team in the Cheltenham office. The role is full time role offering hybrid working.
You will be allocated your own portfolio of clients and will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of weekly and monthly payrolls including starters, leavers, personal changes, holiday pay, statutory payments and making BACS payments via the payroll software. You will be supported by the existing members of the payroll team.
Required Attributes
To be considered you will have –
- A minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience within a professional practice environment.
- Knowledge of RTI, Auto Enrolment and the payrolling of benefits are essential as well as the ability to understand and break down payslips and re perform tax calculations manually. Experience of Star Payroll is preferable but not essential.
- Your communication and relationship building must be to a very high standard as we pride ourselves on providing a high level of service to our clients at all time.
- Ideally from a Practice background and/or with experience in working in a finance role on an international basis (within industry or practice)
- Experience working for a US based organisation would be a distinct advantage
- A self-starter who is able to come in and quickly take ownership for a number of clients
- Highly organised and able to thrive/work well under pressure
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley compliance would be an advantage
- Great people management skills and a team player
- IT skills – good understanding of Excel, Word, Microsoft and accounting systems, such as SAGE etc.
