The Role

Do you enjoy applying your problem-solving skills in your daily job? Our Digital Auditor team members have a blend of both accounting & FSA skills, are proficient in data terminology, understand what can be achieved through the use of data techniques, and adept at identifying opportunities to enhance audit approaches using this understanding.

There are no requirements for prior experience working with analytics tools (or within FS), however, data manipulation, data transformation and writing formulae are all integral to what we do day to day. As such, this role is typically better suited to individuals with strong data literacy and Excel skills.

We’re looking for a manager to lead on Financial Services Audit engagements, which typically use a number of different administration and ERP systems to manage their products.

You will join KPMG’s rapidly growing and fast paced Clara Analytics and Technology team and lead data analytics which serves engagement teams across the CLR, FS & KPE portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Independently managing the deployment of technology and D&A for a portfolio of audit engagements
  • Analysing outputs, deriving insights and identifying items for follow up testing
  • Performing initial reviews of D&A outputs and working alongside out technical teams to identify issues and inconsistencies that need to be solved before sharing the analysis
  • Presenting the analysis to the audit teams, using visualisation applications where possible (PowerBI, Celonis)
  • Summarising insights, results & findings and generating reports/slide decks suitable for presenting to Senior Management & Audit Committees
  • Supporting audit teams with data extractions & establishing a process for data-sharing with the audited entity
  • Preparation of D&A documentation and ensuring the audit team have appropriate file documentation & have complied with mandatory requirements
  • Preparing budgets and monitoring engagement finances, overruns & delivery timelines 

Experience

  • Experience working on the delivery of financial statement audits
  • Experience of working with D&A on an audit engagement
  • Familiarity with basic data concepts
  • Logical mind set and curiosity for exploring data to understand content and how it can be used within assurance
  • Identifying the root cause of issues, and advising or Auditing an entity on the impact and recommendation for this
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including being able to communicate and present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

  • ACA/ ACCA / ICAS qualification (or international equivalent) or trainee
