We are seeking a CFO for our London Branch. This is a senior leadership position that will be a critical role within the London Branch and Commonwealth Bank of Australia's Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M), Finance Global leadership team, reporting directly to the Global CFO, IB&M.

This role contributes to the strategic direction of the business, demonstrating a high level of knowledge of business challenges, proposed solutions, and appropriate levels of influencing skills. Informing the business with timely, relevant, and meaningful management reporting and performance information accompanied by a high level of regulatory reporting, controls, and reporting systems knowledge. The CFO role is a key member of the London Branch Management Committee, IB&M Finance Global Leadership Team and holds directorships on the Boards of the London Branch Subsidiaries.

To successfully deliver in this role, you will require strong business acumen and conceptual thinking skills combined with experience managing rigorous & disciplined financial controls whilst being passionate about developing high performing teams.

Key attributes include:

  • Extensive Executive Manager level experience in a finance function within banking, bringing a deep understanding of key IB&M products and services.
  • High level understanding of regulatory reporting, controls, and reporting systems knowledge.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in implementing and managing rigorous, disciplined financial controls, financial management systems, and enterprise performance measures.
  • Possess a detailed understanding of risk management and internal control processes, procedures and issues.
  • Resilience and composure in an uncertain and fast-moving environment.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with a high degree of commercial acumen and ability to drive results across a large organization.
  • Established record of inclusive leadership of a diverse range of people to achieve high quality outcomes. This role will be leading a team of 7 individuals.
  • Ability to communicate articulately, effectively and knowledgeably on issues relevant to the business, and influence decisions.
