Job Purpose:
- We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work within the Valuation Control Group as a regional senior analyst in Rates and Currencies team.
- The candidate should have a good understanding of the valuation of financial instruments, implementing/maintaining an effective control framework, along with regulatory developments and global account standards that impact financial valuations.
- The role will cover valuation control of the Rates and Currencies inventory and will require strong communication skills and teamwork across multiple locations and departments (New York, Warsaw, London, Singapore)
- Due to the technical nature of the role and the high-volume nature of the business, the successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude in discussing the technical aspects of valuations to pose a credible challenge to the business.
- The successful candidate will supervise the Rates and Currencies Valuation Control business from a global valuation perspective and will be expected to have hands-on involvement as well as supervisory responsibility.
About the Team:
- The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent global group within Product Control responsible for reviewing and reporting fair value inventory and Rates and Currencies positions consistently across all asset classes.
- VCG is organized along business lines and clients of the group include Business Heads, Line Product Control, Market Risk, Model Risk, Compliance, Legal Department, Middle Office, Internal Audit, external audit firms and the regulatory bodies in countries impacted by Citi’s footprint. VCG collaborates closely with its client base to ensure complete understanding of business valuation issues and accurate execution of valuation control policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting valuation control related production, such as Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustments and Fair Value Hierarchy results.
- Working as subject matter expert in all strategic initiatives related to Derivatives IPV (Independent Price Verification), Valuation Adjustment automation, Fair Value hierarchy automation.
- Relationship management and development across other peers within FXLM (Foreign Exchange and Local Markets) and across other asset classes to ensure consistency of processes and controls.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Finance-related experience, ideally in a financial control, valuation, product control or a related discipline (e.g. market risk etc.)
- Financial products and valuation control related knowledge would be a strong plus
- Proficiency in any of these: VBA, SQL, Data management software;
- Python would be a great advantage
- Strong analytical skills; High volume data analysis background is a plus
- Quantitative background/experience would be a great asset
- Strong communication, influencing, presentation and leadership skills with experience of presenting to large audiences with multiple participants
- Drives innovation; Prioritizes and provides clear line of sight to most critical work; Works collaboratively across the organization
- Fluent English (verbal/written) at min. B2 level
Education:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any finance, economics or quantitative related subject
