As Finance Manager you will regularly review progress vs plan flagging any risks or issues, liaise with a number of key individuals in group finance to agree/obtain key information and act as a key point of contact/liaison for external auditors. You will also be responsible for:
- Communicating when required with key stakeholders with the UK business & Group to ensure all aspects of the accounts are complete.
- Continuously reviewing processes ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
- Analysing and interpreting large data sets from multiple sources in differing formats
- Management of part qualified accountants on specific activities such as balance sheet reporting and key elements within the vast pension process.
- Co-ordinating external audit being a key point of contact between the business and the auditors.
- Preparing ad-hoc reports analysis for internal and external stakeholders
- Upholding a key understanding of UK tax requirements
- Keeping up to date with current changes to international accounting standards to ensure accurate reporting within key financial statements, providing technical support to sector colleagues on a wide range of accounting matters.
- Qualified in ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent)
- Highly numerical and analytical
- Able to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically
- Able to analyse and evaluate information
- Have excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties
- Able to effectively plan and organise own work
- Able to take on a broad spectrum of work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales
- Up to date on current and planned changes to international accounting standards
- Experienced in SAP/Cognos (desirable)
