Account & Supplier Risk Specialist

As an Account & Supplier Risk Specialist, you will ensure the smooth daily operation of the team in coordination with your peers around the world. You will drive performance towards key departmental objectives and periodically represent our team in forums spanning across Expedia Group. This role requires flexibility in adapting your approach as circumstances change. As Fraud never stops, neither do we. We are a 24 x 7 Operations team and scheduling flexibility is needed in this role. Our team values diverse strengths and recognizes the importance of individual contributions. What you’ll do:

  • Your core function is to detect and mitigate fraud on our customer accounts and supply partners, with an emphasis on working outside of standard queues to creatively tackle emerging challenges confronting the team
  • Consistently maintain or exceed required performance standards related to productivity, quality, efficiency, and SLA
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic query language functionality, allowing to modify, troubleshoot, and execute database queries across various reporting tools: SQL, QueryBook
  • Determine appropriate solutions to combat fraud trends and emerging risk vectors
  • You will represent the team in multi-functional initiatives to identify improvements in tools and processes and be the primary resource for UAT initiatives
  • Perform assigned operational projects in a timely manner, as requested. 
  • Will be responsible for some outcomes and analysis of complex fraud cases
  • Proactively find opportunities for operational improvements and effectively raise abnormalities, technical problems, and bugs to the appropriate teams for resolution
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Account and Supplier Risk space and help drive the evolution of the team's knowledge base. 
  • Handle executive escalations and resolve higher complexity risk decisions
  • Provide mentoring and training to your team members and own smaller operations-focused initiatives on an ongoing basis
  • May assist with managing daily capacity against transactional volume
  • May facilitate team meetings and serve as a temporary relief Supervisor (in Supervisor's absence)
  • May be required to support business continuity emergencies, as requested by leadership
  • Support additional duties as assigned

Who you are:

  • You have at least 2+ years of experience in fraud and risk management
  • Proven track record of high performance within the current role
  • Proven capacity for analytical thought, and ability to extract meaningful insights from data that lead to improvements in the detection of risk
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, including data extraction capabilities across multiple platforms, and demonstrates sophisticated judgment capability
  • Requires superb interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties
  • Possess a high degree of self-motivation and strive for improvement both in yourself and those around you
  • Flexibility to adapt and ability to handle multiple assignments while working independently
  • Enjoy working as a part of a creative, adaptable team within an evolving area of the company
