Financial Reporting Manager

A dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Manager is required to lead the accounting and finance department within the life science industry. This role demands extensive knowledge of financial reporting & excellent leadership skills.

Description

Leadership & Oversight

• Lead the financial accounting team for UK legal entities, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery in direct and indirect tax matters.
• Oversee fixed asset control, intercompany processes, and VAT reporting for EMEA.
• Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and establish robust controls on risk and control issues.
• Support financial reporting across EMEA, maintaining consistent accounting standards.
• Provide absence cover for the Financial Accountant UK.

Financial Reporting & Control

• Deliver accurate financial information monthly, quarterly, and annually for UK entities.
• Prepare EEL Statutory Group Consolidation and annual statutory accounts.
• Analyze inventory holdings and provide IFRS guidance.
• Manage monthly reports to HQ and act as a key contact for UK entities.
• Create cash flow statements, maintain financial regulations, support audits, and evaluate accounting standards.
• Monitor PPRS changes, prepare returns, and support F,P&A functions.
• Review balance sheet reconciliation and control processes.

Direct and Indirect Taxation

• Complete tax computations for UK entities and supervise annual tax returns.
• Review PSA, VAT group returns, and ensure timely HMRC filings.
• Maintain up-to-date tax reporting processes for EMEA and support R&D tax calculations.
• Execute the EMEA tax control framework.

Approvals & Review

• Standardize internal controls and ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.

Systems & Efficiency

• Develop processes, facilitate IT system usage, and support SAP training and testing

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Financial accounting systems including SAP and Stravis Line

Profile

A successful Financial Reporting Manager should have:

• Proven experience in a managerial role within the accounting and finance department.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, corporate finance, and cost accounting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in analysing financial data and deriving strategic decisions.
• High-level understanding of the life science industry.
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent
