Position Description

Performance Measurement Analyst (technical SA) provides core performance measurement services supporting monthly or daily calculations and reporting frequency. The qualified candidate will audit and ensure integrity of calculated results through accounting data comparisons and market reasonability checks; research and resolve data validation differences; elevate system issues; work with accounting counterparts and other support groups as appropriate; produce and ensure the integrity of standard performance reports. Also, will partner and maintain relationships with donor site(s) and various stakeholders in order to meet agreed internal as well as external client targets and SLAs.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical competencies:

  • Reviewing analyst work and assisting team supervisors/managers
  • Verify portfolios on a monthly or daily basis utilizing the in house Performance System running system jobs from logout rates calculation and log-in
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of core performance measurement services and reporting produced by the Associates
  • Point of expertise for junior staff on performance-related questions
  • Liaises with internal clients and supporting departments for the purpose of obtaining key inputs to service delivery
  • Perform research and analysis of performance results through a two-step audit. The first category being data validation/reconciliation of Accounting data to Performance data and the second category reviewing and validating return reasonability checks and audits
  • Process translation adjustments and re-compute return results
  • Process Breakouts and Composites portfolios and finalize client data
  • Prepare Standard Client Reporting for Performance Measurement and /or Attribution
  • Maintain Quality Control Documentation explaining return outliers and custom client activity
  • Liaise with internal State Street departments such as Accounting IT and Market Data Team
  • Assist more senior staff in designated projects and assignments
  • Assist and support Team Supervisor.
  • Performs special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Team Manager

Data control checks and reporting:

  • Compare and confirm accuracy of performance data as it appears in the system.
  • Escalate and advise donor sites of any discrepancies and/or issues a timely fashion
  • Generate required reporting in a timely manner, as required
  • Ensuring data is accurate and ready for client use

Other:

  • Involvement in departmental ad-hoc projects
  • Involvement in the training and development of other team members as necessary
  • Actively participates in the development of new hires in the team. Supports and guides them in the knowledge of all technical aspects of the work, as well as in their work organization
  • Make recommendations for changes to processes and procedures and prepare documentation for review as required
  • Take responsibility for personal development and training

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of performance measurement calculations and standards
  • Very good knowledge of financial services, securities industry, and capital markets
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work towards tight deadlines
  • Excellent PC skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent English
  • 3+ years of experience in an Investment Performance (preferred) and/or a Fund Accounting Group
