Who we are looking for

The UK Settlements Senior Associate role is based in the United Kingdom within our Edinburgh office and your primary function will be to ensure the timely and accurate settlement of all Collective Investment and Residual trades. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years custody experience, preferably in settlements, with strong leadership skills. This role requires a high degree of accuracy and the ability to oversee others whilst fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment as you will be the first point of escalation for the team.. The successful candidate will also be able to assist and cover for the team manager when required.

What you will be responsible for

As UK Settlements/Agent Bank Operations, Senior Associate you will

  • Ensure the timely and accurate settlement of all transactions within the UK Collective Investment and Residual Settlement market liaising with internal and external parties where required.
  • Checking/approving the work of other team members
  • Investigate and resolve any security and cash breaks referred to your team.
  • Ability to work independently and field enquiries from internal and external clients.
  • Provide on the job training and act as a point of escalation / subject matter expert for any complex queries received or generated by the other team members.
  • Actively seeking out potential enhancements to the operation of the team; document them and raise to the manager, then track to completion.
  • Providing assistance to the team manager in the organization, training and running of the team.
  • Covering many of the team manager duties during their absence.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience within the financial industry is required.
  • Experience within a Custody team is preferred
