Credit Analyst

This is a great opportunity for an energetic and focused professional who is keen to develop their career in the finance industry.

As a Credit Analyst you will deliver timely commercially balanced credit recommendations within stated credit parameters to colleagues / credit committee. You will focus on medium / ticket transactions between €250k and €30m.

This credit role is hybrid with a minimum of two set office days per week.

Day to day:

  • Obtain and analyse financial, asset, market, legal and contractual information
  • Support the management of our Commercial Finance portfolio through continuous assessment / monitoring of both new and existing credit lines
  • Prepare structured financial analysis via ratio and peer group comparison, etc
  • Prepare credit application reports as a sound basis for decision-making by senior risk officers and risk committee
  • Attend end user meetings / calls to complete due diligence and help support the sales process on large / complex transactions
  • Advise, prepare and participate in local credit committees and act as secretary to local credit committees when appropriate
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of DLL Group & Local Credit and Risk Policies
  • Supporting on-boarding of new vendor programs from a Risk & Credit perspective
  • Experience in negotiating legal and compliance aspects of proposed structures and engaging with internal and external legal counsel
  • Ensure regulatory compliance at transaction level
  • Act as a point of guidance to wider Operations / Commercial teams
  • Review / assessment / approval of new suppliers / intermediaries
  • Annual reviews of suppliers and participation (as required) in supplier dashboard / portfolio reviews
  • Annual large exposure reviews
  • Work closely with Collections & Recovery team
  • Scoring, rating and annual re-rating of large exposures
  • Contribution to the department’s regular reporting on portfolio quality and performance
  • Provide advisory guidance to commercial teams on risk policy / procedures and work with the wider Credit Management team on the creation / revision of these policies / processes
  • Support process improvement, using lean approach.

  • Well-structured and rationalized credit decisions / recommendations
  • Timely credit recommendations supporting the total commercial value proposition
  • Customer satisfaction – measured via NPS
  • Compliance adherence
  • Contribution to portfolio quality
  • Contribution to team profile / culture

As this role is a Controlled Function (CF4), you will be required to meet the Central Bank of Ireland’s Minimum Competency requirements and Fitness and Probity Standards, meaning you will be required to obtain a qualification as either an Accredited Product Advisor (Loan and Consumer Credit) or Qualified Financial Advisor.

Essentials:

  • Solid experience of underwriting / analysing standard and non-standard transactions in a wide range of sectors within either a banking or asset finance business
  • Degree or equivalent in numerate/business / analytical subject
  • Experience in analysing and executing large value structured transactions between €250k and €30m across various industries / sectors
  • Experience of working closely with Relationship/Account Managers in Sales teams and helping them to structure deals
