Our client is a reputable international law firm who are looking for a standout candidate for this unique opportunity Description The responsibilities include; Responsibility for posting financial transactions within the accounts receivable and payable ledgers. Ensure bills are raised in accordance with client services agreements/ letters of engagements. Ensure the Firm's billing and credit note procedure is strictly adhered to and that all necessary authorities are obtained. Assist with client and matter housekeeping for unbilled disbursements. Ensuring disbursements are billed to clients on a regular basis. Chasing overdue debts and meeting the monthly cash collection targets. Assisting with assessing credit worthiness of new clients. Processing the weekly and monthly payment runs for accounts payable (including expenses). Liaison with suppliers and the monthly reconciliation of the supplier accounts Ensuring compliance with local VAT regulations in relation to output and input purchase VAT recovery. Generating ad hoc internal reports as required. Posting client / office receipts and payments including daily bank reconciliations. Ensuring compliance with Ireland Law Society Rules for holding of client monies and any reporting requirements. Liaise with the local accountants to ensure monthly VAT returns are completed and filed on time. Acting as the gatekeeper for AML compliance when accepting funds into the Firm bank accounts and ensuring compliance with Anti Money Laundering policy. Provide cost analysis and support during the annual budgeting and reforecasting process. Provide support to the central reporting team during the annual audit. Ensure that the Firm's accounting policies are implemented within the office. Finance induction for new staff members. Liaison with other finance team members including the working capital teams, financial reporting, tax and other internal functions. Profile Qualifications/ Experience Professional accounting qualification highly desirable. At least five years experience gained within a large professional services organisation or an international law firm undertaking a broad financial role Demonstrable experience of improving financial processes and procedures Experience in dealing with volumes of transactional processing. Good working knowledge of EU VAT concepts and principles and ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
