Description Alere's Global Operations is a complex organization made up of 13 sites in 8 countries servicing a variety of strategic markets. The Global Operations management group brings guidance and governance to this group as Alere strives to achieve its strategic imperatives. Alere Global Operations strives to be the benchmark in manufacturing excellence by 2020, key to our success will be the selection and management of a portfolio of programmes and projects that will make a real difference. Global Operations, like Alere International Ltd, is employing a tailored PRINCE2 methodological approach to project management that we have called MAPS. This significant change in approach requires a diligent eye on the process activities, accurate data for decision making and investment in people's skills and tools. The Projects Financial Planning Analysts will work with the Director of Portfolio Management to support and develop Portfolio and Project Management practices throughout Alere operations and increase our manufacturing sites ability to make strategic decisions through project portfolio and financial analytics. The primary responsibility will be to empower leadership and management at all levels within the organization though effective reporting and analysis. The Projects Financial Planning Analyst will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization whilst gaining an understanding of Alere operations, Alere products and a unique view of our strategy and its deployment. The role presents personal development opportunities through the participation and potential leadership of programmes and projects where appropriate. Responsibilities and Duties Portfolio Collation & Analysis Maintain and develop a common financial modelling approach to reporting for the investment and performance analysis of the global operations portfolio in a consistent and meaningful way. Maintain alignment with in the Global Finance Leadership standards/requirements to optimize data processing across the business. Liaise with site points of contact to ensure the submission of portfolio and project documentation. Work with the Portfolio Director to ensure project team compliance with applicable policies, methodology strategies and documentation requirements. Large Programme & Project Financial Support Conduct budget reporting and analysis for global multisite projects. Perform investment appraisal and budgetary analysis for projects, programmes and the global portfolio. Financial focused participation in independent project health checks for large investment, opportunity or risk projects. Manage the provision of shared document storage for global programmes in SharePoint and/or OneDrive. Operations Dashboard Maintenance & Analysis (Dundas Dashboards) Monthly reporting of site fiscal and operational KPIs (Site, regional and global reports) Utilise data imported from Hyperion (Executive Dashboard) Analysis of site performance Identify benefits derived from portfolio investments Work as part of the globally dispersed team to create and maintain project documentation that will be used throughout the project lifecycle to performance monitor and maintain alignment with corporate strategy and objectives. Requirements Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience. Financial analysis experience. Track record of being well organized and structured. In order to interact with sites on different time zones occasional out of hours working is required. Occasional international travel required. Person Profile Good financial and business acumen with experience of financial analysis. Planning, analysis and problem solving should be core competencies. A well organised individual. Experience of working with international stakeholders is desirable. Qualified accountant with 3+ years' experience is preferred Technical Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential. Good Ms Word and Ms Outlook skills essential. Ms Power Point skills essential Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Ms SharePoint (iConnect) skills desirable. QlikView and/or Dundas dashboard experience is a distinct advantage but not required. Team Skills Excellent communication skills (written & verbal across cultures).
